Glennbo Glass Framed 5 bellyboards
Glenn Bowker started up Glennbo Glass as a retirement hobby, rather than a business, but here at the Museum of British Surfing, we are glad he did. The name Glennbo is not only a college friend’s nickname for Glenn, but also a homage to Bilbo, coined when he made a few bellyboards. Glenn was World Belly Board senior men’s champion in 2013.
He started with (leaded) stained glass in 2013, then bought a kiln and has been making fused glass since 2015. Starting with panels and pieces for friends and family, things grew, firstly with Xmas ornaments, then a lifelong love of surfing and the coast led to him trying some surf-themed pieces which have proved popular since. He says it’s inspiring to select pieces of glass, cut and fuse them to create things which others appreciate.
These framed bellyboard pictures are unique and extremely popular so tend to sell really quickly. They look great in any room.
