There’s just three months left to drop-in and see the fantastic exhibition at the Museum of British Surfing – Sixties SURFER!
To whet your appetite here’s a newly produced clip from Matt Warshaw’s excellent online Encylopedia of Surfing showing Rod Sumpter surfing various locations in the 1960s.
You can get up close and personal with what’s claimed to be one of Rod’s trademark competition Britannia surfboards kindly on loan to the surfing museum from British wetsuit pioneer Carey Brown of C-Skins. There’s the most complete selection of British made 1960s surfboards ever seen in one place, early wetsuits, music, memorabilia and much more!
There are fun activities for kids to get involved in, and it is the perfect place to visit whatever the weather.
Don’t miss out! Sixties SURFER will end on January 4th 2014 and its place will be taken by ‘The First Wave – an oral history of British surfing’ for the rest of next year.
