Volunteers
If you love meeting people and have a passion for preserving the history of British Surfing, we’d love to meet you. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team at the Museum of British Surfing in Braunton.
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated volunteers in the following fields; front of house staff; events & fundraising; collection documentation; museum accreditation; education & schools/community outreach; volunteer co-ordinator; youth ambassadors; surfboard restoration & historical research.
Each year we welcome thousands of visitors from all over the world at our award winning and vibrant heritage attraction and we’re always looking for people to join our dedicated band of volunteers delivering excellent customer service at front of house, and/or get involved with managing our collection, helping maintain the building, organising events or leading fundraising drives. You can get involved in some or all of the different aspects of the museum and as much or as little time as you like.
Whether you’re a student looking to gain valuable work experience, a retiree or professional looking to give something back to the surfing community, or actively looking to get your foot on the museum, charity or surf industry ladder, this opportunity is tailor-made for you. Surfing is now worth an estimated £1.8 billion to the UK economy, and this is a great opportunity to learn about its amazing heritage and share our story with the public.
If you are interested or want to know more about how you can help and get involved, either drop by the museum for a chat, PM us on Facebook or email us at:
