1968 - Scottish surfing started with George Law in Aberdeen

George Law is generally acknowledged as being the first surfer in Scotland when he started surfing in Aberdeen in 1967. The photo was taken in Sept 1968 and shows George on the left at Aberdeen beach with Andy Bennetts and Stuart Crichton.

Bill Batten surfed Pease Bay in late 1968 and a bunch of early stalwarts regularly surfed there in 1969 and onwards.
